BAR WON · CLASSIC COCKTAIL

Cosmopolitan (0% ABV)

฿330

A Cosmopolitan with the alcohol taken out but the architecture left standing. The bar builds it from zero-proof gin and triple sec, cranberry and fresh lime, shaken hard so the tartness stays bright instead of collapsing into syrup.

0% ABV — no alcohol in the build.
Zero-proof gin and triple sec as the base.
Cranberry and lime carry the balance.
Shaken, off-dry, low bitterness.
Lime wedge or orange twist on top.

How it is made

The classic template is vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry and lime — a sour in structure, with the liqueur doing the sweetening. Here the spirits are swapped for zero-proof versions of gin and triple sec, so the same three-way tension is rebuilt without the ethanol. It is shaken rather than stirred, which aerates the juice and softens the edges of the citrus.

How it tastes

Off-dry rather than sweet. Cranberry gives a faintly bitter, red-fruit backdrop; lime cuts across it and keeps the finish clean. Bitterness sits low, so the sharpness comes from acidity rather than from botanicals. The orange liqueur note reads as a soft, perfumed middle rather than a sugary one.

Good to know

The Cosmopolitan as it is recognised today took shape in the 1980s and was cemented in the 1990s, but its lineage runs back through earlier drinks that mixed cranberry with citrus and orange liqueur. Its proportions are unusually unforgiving — shift the lime too far and the whole thing tips from bright to thin.

Contains no alcohol.
